Description

A high percentage of the urge to dance comes from the upper bass frequencies. It’s where the kick and finer details of the bass are found. The need for speed and articulation in this critical region calls for a dedicated enclosure designed with one purpose in mind. Enter the Hyperfold upper bass enclosure – it’s quite simply the mother of all kick cabs.

Hyperfold’s design has evolved over many years, thanks to the implementation of new technologies and advanced materials that are constantly arriving and have contributed to its existence, because size for size it contains the highest number of drivers – four high excursion 15″ dedicated low frequency drive units – and hence displacement per cabinet volume. And it needs all that displacement to keep up with the extraordinary efficiency of all the other elements that go into making the Incubus Club System. When arrayed, Hyperfold cabinets mutually couple in the upper bass region to deliver gains in output far beyond the measured 148dB maximum output from a single unit. Two Neutrik speakON™ NL4 connectors are provided on the rear of the 18mm (3/4″) birch plywood cabinet that is reinforced with fibreglass, Kevlar and distinctive lightweight ‘Incubus’ aluminium bracing.

If the Incubus Sub provides the pulse, Hyperfold is the blood that runs through the entire system. Without it there is no system, no urge to connect with the greater whole, or to become part of the dance.
